James N. Lynch retired from structural firefighting after twenty-five years of service. He is an avid motorcyclist who has land speed raced at the Bonneville Salt Flats. He loves scuba diving and was previously a scuba instructor and an underwater welder. James is fascinated with physics and quantum mechanics. From his first exposure to physics and the elements in high school, he became enthralled by the workings of the universe. Inspired by the works of prominent luminaries such as Stephen Hawking, Brian Cox and Neil Degrasse Tyson, it was when he read The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene that his idea for the novel Earthshine came to be. The greatest mysteries of the elemental universe are explored and expanded into an impossibly twisted alternate reality in Earthshine, where the periodic table expands beyond what humanity knows. James hopes readers will be enthralled by this tale of loss, terror and discovery. He spends his time in Montana with his wife and dog, doing wood and metal work.
